Today is International Women’s Day which means we celebrate women everywhere and I wanted to take this opportunity to highlight some of the amazing everyday women leaders I am honored to know.

It is an interesting phenomena that not many women would call themselves a leader or even talk with confidence about what they do; in fact they don’t even see the impact and incredible difference they are making in the lives of so many around them. This skill of owning, sharing, and acknowledging one’s own effort is one area of women’s leadership that needs to be developed by many women. Until one sees and owns it for themselves, let’s raise each other up with praise, acknowledgement, and celebration not just once a year, but on a regular basis.

Women of Impact I Celebrate

Laurie McNeil

I am honored to say that Laurie started as  client, but has become a friend and is a woman I respect greatly. She is an everyday leader in the amazing kind acts she carries out for all those in her presence. I have watched her care for elderly women friends as if they were her own mother, invest in young women and their future, educate and take an active role in her niece’s lives, and be an activist in her own community saving trees! I have learned so much from her and admire her financial planning and adventurous spirit. Thank you Laurie for being an everyday women leader.

Natalie Yousef

Some people have such a gracious, peaceful, and grounded presence that their very being puts a smile on your face. Natalie also has a very fun, playful energy that brings everyone around her to life. She is the type of person who makes friends wherever she goes. Her talent with helping people of all ages and backgrounds in her work and life with their greatest struggles, largest obstacles, and deepest emotions has and will continue to change lives daily! She is on her way to becoming a counselor and the world is a better place because of her. Lastly, she inspires me with her thirst for life, experiences, adventure, and her love for people. Thank you Natalie for being and everyday women leader making an impact!

Susan Collier

Susan is an everyday women leader in so many ways! She is a mom, grandma, wife, working woman, and what I love most about her leadership is that she supports and champions other women everywhere she can and in every way she can even with a full schedule and life! She has a large awesome family that fills her time with joy and yet I watched her compassionately care for, empower, and take time with many other women of all ages.

She quietly mentors, listens, supports, empowers, and shows up to celebrate women. One of the things I love most about her is her desire to always be learning, never idle, and if she believes in what you are doing, she is your greatest ambassador! Okay, that wasn’t one, but who’s counting!

Alexa Gelles and Sarah Bernstein

These two young women are leading every day by being entrepreneurs on a mission growing businesses with social impact! Sarah is is the founder of The Urban Hustle and Alexa launched her private practice with Alexa Gelles Counselling specializing in relationship counseling. They have vision, passion, and are leading their careers. It is always so inspiring to see young women who are already expressing themselves authentically, sharing their talent, and aligning their passion with purpose for a fulfilling career. These two ladies impress me and are everyday women leaders by creating businesses that support, grow, and celebrate people. Thank you Alexa and Sarah for being everyday women leaders!

Shelagh Kennett

At 73, my mom is still working on large, exciting projects and just last week received a standing ovation for her work at a special event in front of hundreds of people. Little do they know it is hard for her to stand nowadays, but despite pain and physical limitations, she carries on, forges forward and goes along for the adventure giving it all she has! She is an every day women leader with her energy, her presence. She inspires, lifts others up, and has men and women of all ages endeared to her. Her small size hides her power and brilliance and it is magical to watch men and women be surprised, memorized, and silent when she talks because of her wisdom. She is committed to learning and living in the modern world and at age 73 just started her own blog! I am grateful to call her mom and see her being an everyday women leader for so many people.

If there is a woman you want to celebrate, acknowledge or champion, leave a comment here and tag them! You know a woman leader owns her worth, value, and contributions acknowledging herself too so feel free to share here what you are doing!
