Is your life in alignment with who you are, how you want to live, and the vision you have? Life alignment is when the life you are currently living is aligned with the truth of who you are and how you want to live. Unfortunately, many of us are out of alignment for a variety of reasons and sometimes it even works because it is feeding other needs; however, if you are unhappy, restless, and feel something is missing like excitement or ease, then you may be ready to get into alignment.

Life alignment cannot happen before one acknowledges they are the leader of their life. Life leadership embraces the concept that although life is happening all around us, many a times with unexpected or sometimes unwelcome circumstances, we are still the leader of our life. Yet, the stresses, busyness, and demands of our lives leave us feeling we are not in the driver seat. In these moments and every moment, we are leading; we lead with every choice we make. Choose to own the leadership role in creating your life and living in alignment with who you are and how you want to live.

Increase Your Life Happiness by Getting into Alignment

If you find yourself in a place where you are unhappy with your life or the circumstances you find yourself in and feel stuck, one of the best things you can do is assess and align your life to who you are, what you want, and how you want to live. Aligning your life with who you are is a discovery process which if you have been living on autopilot, with stress, or living unconsciously, will require some guidance.

Sometimes fear, shoulds, money, and limited thinking keeps us on a path that we believe to be the only one or perhaps we just cannot see another option yet. If you add any stress to that which you may have been under or still experiencing, that stress response actually turns off your executive brain functions where creativity, strategy, decision making, and vision live.

How are you suppose to see other opportunities and have vision for a better tomorrow if you are in a stress state and there has been no breather to come up for air? This is where we or you start! It seems simple, but if there has been no pauses or stillness or a even a moment of silence for you to breathe, your brain and body need this calming connection first so they can actually function optimally for you.

This is the first step in alignment, that being connection! Connection to your breath and to a calm, peaceful moment, connects you to your body and mind; it also connects you to the present moment. This is where intuition, wisdom, your voice, and an inner knowing come from. Clarity comes when instead of living in chaos and automatic pilot, we choose a conscious, present, centered moment.

How to Get Into Life Alignment

Some may call life alignment, soul alignment or a path to life happiness or even living congruent and true to yourself, but how do we get into alignment? First off, I believe we are all in the process already so you are not behind or off course; you are right on course because sometimes disgruntlement is a piece of the puzzle to understand what we need and want most. However, if you put your head down, plow through, avoid, or distract yourself from dealing with what you are not happy with in your life, you are simply postponing happiness and freedom.

One of the best ways to get into alignment is to be guided through a self discovery by a certified life or leadership coach. Life alignment requires an analysis of your strengths, skills, personality, and your core being which includes your values. When someone wants to create and lead their life forward in a direction that will align with who they are and their vision, I take them through a discovery which includes a personalized web of life, their archetypes, values, and a core being exercise. We also can assess your strengths and align of all who you are with the desired life you want to live.

The reason I say, life alignment requires a guide is sometimes we have blind spots or sometimes we only have our own perspective, but with reflection or a powerful question from a coach, our inner knowing can be broadened in lightning speed. What I hear so often from clients, is that the processing that they have to do by engaging with a coach and speaking out load helps them solve what have been huge obstacles to growth.

Sometimes getting into alignment requires us to to align with the truth of who we are, the talent or gifts we possess, and most importantly the belief we can be who we are and live a free, abundant life. This leads us to a crucial element of life alignment which is not leaving anything to chance or circumstance, but rather seeing ourselves as the leader in charge of our life.

You are the Leader of Your Life

I can remember well over a decade ago when I was in a career I was passionate about, truly dedicated to a large clientele I had served for close to 15 years, and built my life and identity around to one day decide to walk away from all of it. It was a community, a way of life, a purpose and even who I was in that moment. Then, just like that, it was done because I had come to a crossroads where I was limited in growth, pay, and challenge; I still loved it and to this day, it is still one of the ‘in my zone’ mastery flow states I still get when I practice it. I shocked my peers, shocked myself completely unprepared for the identity crisis that would unfold for a while, and left the community of clients wondering, ‘when will she return?’

Something had to change for me and the change was not coming to me handed on a silver platter or as a gold lined opportunity that would present a seamless path, so I did what any completely inexperienced change maker would do, I made a rather radical decision to shift the trajectory of my career. Even though I still miss pieces of the old me and my old career and I savor some of the memories, I am grateful for the path it has lead to and the experiences I have been able to have along the way.

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage. Anais Nin

Why did I share that story? That wasn’t life leading me or presenting me with something new that just dropped in my life; it was me stepping into the leader role of my life and making the tough decisions to lead the vision forward. When we step into the leader role, we are rewarded with the life we want and deserve. Yet, with a leader role and any great endeavor, it is not without struggle, adversity, or changing seas; it is however, always worth it eventually!

Have you been leading your life or have you been waiting for life to offer up something new? Do you see yourself as a leader in your life and if not, could you for a moment here and imagine where you would lead yourself and what your leadership vision would be? How would your life change and what would you do differently if you stepped into leading it?

You are one thought, one decision, one action, and one leader away from creating the life of your dreams and living your best life. What ‘one’ will it be for you?
